Overall⭐⭐⭐

Affordability – With annual fees of $175 the first year (reducing to $49 thereafter) and monthly fees of $12.50 after the first year, these cards can be expensive. The 35.9% APR is also considerably above average credit card rates, which typically hover around 21%.

Application process – The company offers pre-qualification with no impact on your credit score, and their approval criteria are more lenient than traditional card issuers. Many applicants receive instant decisions, and the online application is straightforward and user-friendly.

Loan terms – The terms of Concora Credit’s products are less competitive than many alternatives. Credit limits typically start low (around $300-$500), and there’s no clear path to limit increases. The high APR and various fees make these cards expensive if you carry a balance.

Transparency – Concora does disclose its fees and terms upfront, though the overall cost structure can be complex for consumers to fully understand. Their website provides decent information about what to expect.

Customer support – Customer service is available through multiple channels, including phone, email, and their mobile app. Most users report satisfactory experiences with basic account issues, though more complex problems can sometimes require multiple contacts to resolve.

Founded in 2001 in Beaverton, Oregon, Concora has spent over two decades focusing on the non-prime consumer market. Their business model is built around serving customers who have been rejected by traditional lenders but who still need access to credit products.

Formerly known as Genesis Financial Solutions, the company rebranded to Concora Credit in September 2023 with a new tagline: “Do More with Concora Credit.”

The company operates through two main business lines:

  1. General Purpose Credit Cards (GPCC) – These include the Destiny Mastercard, Indigo Mastercard, Milestone Mastercard, and Earniva Business Mastercard, which can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
  2. Private Label Credit Cards (PLCC) – These are store-specific cards offered as a “second-look” option when consumers are declined by a primary lender. These cards are available at major retailers like Home Depot, Kay Jewelers, and Helzberg Diamonds.

Concora Credit doesn’t directly issue credit cards but instead partners with various banks to provide these financial products. The Destiny Mastercard is issued by First Electronic Bank, the Indigo Mastercard by Celtic Bank, and the Milestone Mastercard by The Bank of Missouri.

Okay, now we know what is Concora Credit, but how it works?

When you apply for a Concora Credit card, the company evaluates your application with more lenient criteria than traditional banks. If approved, you’ll receive an unsecured credit card (no security deposit required) with reporting to all three major credit bureaus, allowing you to build credit history with responsible use.

Pros and Cons of Concora Credit

Like any financial product, Concora Credit cards come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages. Before you apply, it’s smart to weigh these carefully against your specific needs and situation.

    Cons

  • High fees – The fee structure is one of the biggest drawbacks of Concora Credit cards. The cost can be as high as $295 in the first year.

  • High APR – The APR of 35.9% for purcharse and cash advance is higher than the national average of around 21% for credit cards.

  • Low credit limits – Initial credit limits typically range from $300-$700, which is low compared to many other credit products.

  • No rewards or benefits – Unlike many credit cards that offer cash back, points, or other perks, Concora Credit cards offer virtually no rewards or benefits.

While Concora Credit cards can serve as a stepping stone for rebuilding credit, they’re best viewed as a temporary solution until you can qualify for more affordable credit products.

The card cuts easy!
Downsides
Apparently once you change your autopay it takes 2 billing cycles before it takes affect...resulting in them overdrafting my account, & me accruing over draft fees because of this non-sense was on the phone with them for an hour & they did NOTHING to resolve the issue. Card is cut, will be paying off & closing account asap. This is highly inefficient amount of time for them to make a change even though they state it take 1-3 business days to process the change (which I did 15business days prior)...I was told over the phone with customer service & a supervisor that the previous autopay would be in effect for up to 2 billing cycles?!?!? Robbery!
